This is an auction for multiple large collections of mostly O Gauge with a few Standard and G Gauge model railroad items from manufacturers like Lionel, MTH, Williams, Weaver, K-Line, and many more. (All of the items in the catalog are O- Gauge unless specified otherwise in the item description.) This auction will feature approximately 600 lots of Postwar and Modern era trains, buildings, and layout accessories many of which are new or like new and in their original boxes. This is a live auction with online simulcast bidding and shipping available for online bidders.
Online pre-bidding begins as items are added to the catalog and converts to live and online bidding at the beginning of the live auction. This will be a simulcast auction which means that the auction will be broadcast live on the internet and internet bidders can bid in real time during the live auction The auction begins at 9:00 AM on November 10, 2018 and is being held at the Weyers Cave Community Center at 682 Weyers Cave Rd, Weyers Cave VA 24486.
Shipping will be available at the buyers expense. A $5 per lot fee for packaging and handling plus actual shipping charges will apply if you wish to have items shipped. For $5 per lot, we will box up and package your items, weigh and measure the box, and get a shipping quote from UPS, Fedex, and USPS. We will contact you for payment of actual shipping costs from any of those shippers and then deliver them to UPS, Fedex, or USPS for shipping.
We have not officially graded these items but we have included high quality photo's so you can assess the cosmetic condition. Most of the inbox items will be C-8 to C-9 and a few C-10. Most of the items without boxes are going to be C-5 to C-6 with a few above and below that. All of the locomotives and operating equipment that are not new in the box have been track tested. Everything works properly unless stated otherwise in the item description. Of course just because it worked when we tested it does not guarantee that it will continue to work. There will be a preview opportunity the day before the auction on November 9 from 12 PM to 7 PM. You are urged to come to the auction location and satisfy yourself as to the condition of these items.

Term and Conditions:
Buyers Premium and Sales Tax: The Buyer's Premium of 10% will be added to each successful bid for onsite buyers and 13% for online buyers to determine the final sales price. Virginia Sales Tax of 5.3% will be charged on all items unless the buyer provides a valid sales tax exemption form. Sales tax exemption must be claimed and form presented before checkout.
Payment: Cash, Credit Card, or Good Check are approved methods of payment. Payment must be made in full the day of the auction and items may not be removed from the auction site until paid for. Online bidders will be required to enter a valid credit card in order to register to bid. The credit card will be checked for available credit of at least $100 but the card will not be charged. (This is an authorization not a charge but it may show up on your account for a few hours.) At the end of the auction all successful online bidders will receive an invoice via email and payment can be made online or you may bring cash or check to pickup. If other payment arrangements are not made within 24 hours of the end of the auction then the credit card used for authorization purposes at the time of registration will be charged.
Shipping: Shipping will be available for online buyers at the buyers expense. Mountain Valley Auction Group will package items and deliver to either UPS, FEDEX, or USPS. There will be a packaging and handling fee of $5 per lot plus actual shipping charges. Please remember that many of these items are large and/or heavy and may be expensive to ship. We will make every effort to ship items in a timely manner but due to the large quantity of items in this auction it may take a week or two to complete all packaging and shipping. If the customer wishes to make other shipping arrangements all items must be removed from the auction site within 6 hours of the end of the auction and after that all items will need to be picked up at the Mountain Valley Auction Group office in Dayton VA. Any items not picked up after 10 days will be considered abandoned property and will be disposed of accordingly.
Merchandise: All Items Are Sold AS IS, WHERE IS, WITHOUT GUARANTEE. We urge you to examine all items carefully and satisfy yourself as to the condition and bid accordingly. We will not be accepting returns or providing refunds.
Condition: We have not officially graded these trains. Most of the items still in their original boxes will be a C-8 to C-9 with a few being C-7 or C-10. Most of the items that do not come in their original boxes will be a grade C-5 to C-6 with a few falling below that. We have included multiple high quality photographs in the online listing and we urge you to examine them closely to ascertain the condition of the item. All locomotives and operating equipment that is not new in the box has been tested and is fully functional unless the item description says otherwise. Condition details are offered as courtesy to bidders, and are opinions only, not statements of fact, and do not imply any warranty concerning condition, or any assumption of liability. Lot announcements, listings, photographs, and catalog information are for descriptive purposes only. All announcements made on the day of the auction by the auctioneer supersede any other previously announced or published materials.
Preview: All of the items will be available to preview at the auction site on November 9 from 12 PM to 7 PM. A test track will be set up so you can test locomotives. Please satisfy yourself as to the condition of each item before placing your bids.
Bidding: You must be registered to place a bid on an item. By placing a bid, you agree to all the terms and conditions that apply to this auction. All bids are final. We cannot retract or remove a bid. We respect your privacy and that of the other bidders. We will not release your information to anyone without your permission. The highest bidder for each item shall be the buyer, and if any dispute arises as to any bidding, or between two or more bidders, the auctioneer will have sole discretion to determine the successful bidder, or the disputed lot shall be offered again at the last undisputed bid and resold. The auction record kept by Auctioneer and Clerk is final.
Buyers are responsible for their items after being pronounced the winning bidder but may not take possession of the items until payment has been made in full.
